In a way it reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend who would be extremely conservative on such matters and is a member of the Legion of Mary. Her attitude was people (and nuns and priests) who didn't agree with the conservative line on issues of sexuality should ship out. I hardly thought it worth pointing out that there has been no consistent line over the past two hundred years on such matters within Catholicism - let alone beyond it - so just what was the basis for her certainty?
