15 seconds on how bad things are.
15 seconds on how FG & Labour will make things worse.
15 seconds on how the SP “will end reliance on the failed capitalist market and the bailout and use the billions to create public jobs in a manufacturing economy”.
45 seconds on voting for the local SP candidates.

Not bad.

I preferred the WP video though.

Where is that Worker’s Party broadcast? Couldn’t find it online.

Hurrah for the parliamentary road to socialism…

Mark P - February 18, 2011

Alan would no doubt have preferred something along the lines of:

http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj2KsBqFhP8&feature=related

(It may look like a video showing hostages and demanding the release of political prisoners but it is in fact a real election broadcast on behalf of the Spartacist League).

LeftAtTheCross - February 18, 2011

Pity there aren’t sub-titles though.

Budapestkick - February 18, 2011

My personal favourite bit of material from the IBT was an issue of 1917 that included the sub-heading ‘Perfidious Albion’

Mark P - February 18, 2011

I actually think it’s better when you can’t understand the language, LATC.

WorldbyStorm - February 18, 2011

Serious question, could someone pass some of that material onto me for the Left Archive?

Budapestkick - February 18, 2011

I could get my hands on a copy. Does it matter that it’s not that old? Actually is there a date limit on stuff for the Left Archive? I’ve refrained from sending post-2000 material.

Mark P - February 18, 2011

WbS, I think that most IBT material is up on their website: http://www.bolshevik.org

They have a legendarily, erm, relaxed publication schedule so there probably isn’t much material about Ireland. No doubt Alan can help you with anything that isn’t on the site.

WorldbyStorm - February 18, 2011

Yeah, I guess I’m just keen to get actual paper in my hands… you know yourself, the IBT’s stuff is all html which I guess, and apologies if this seems a bit fetishistic, doesn’t convey the sense of time and place. An actual document scanned in has a different sense to it, at least so I think!.

By the way, got a great doc from the SP – the first so far – by Peter Hadden in 2001 which goes up in the next month or so.

Excellent stuff.

Alan Davis - February 19, 2011

Not really

For my more detailed position on the election – http://www.bolshevik.org/Leaflets/2011IrishElection.html

Peter Hadden

Transcribed by Einde O’Callaghan who would be in the SWP if he was in Ireland

WorldbyStorm - February 18, 2011

Again, not a printed document, just text. Good stuff, but… we need to see the cover, the images, the emphasis in the text, etc, etc.
