Billy Bragg also commented this week on the pub in Cork that apologised for kicking out a gay couple who kissed; he [had been | is] due to play there.
It was a distinctly lukewarm apology too.The management felt that the couple, ‘could have handled the situation better,’ so that there was right and wrong on both sides. The Old Oak in Cork is obviously one to avoid.
If people want to write politically-minded songs, they’ll do that. If they don’t, then they won’t do that. I don’t believe it’s something you can usefully agitate for.
