And its strongly focused on the McGuinness Presidential election campaign. The editorial argues that ‘Ireland Needs a New Beginning’ and continues:

If I have to hear about those bloody hunger stikes again – ever last issue of that paper – are they trying to make for selling out on people that shoudl ahve ate that humburger

Your alleged sympathy for the hunger strikers is somewhat undermined by the latter part of that sentence.

I wonder of the cost of printing the paper has to be counted as part of the ecelction expenditure (and associated palaver) for Paul Donnelly, given he gets two plugs on the front cover.

I dont see why. Its clearly not a normal newspaper – but theres a difference between a politcally partisan publication and an election leaflet (I presume the point was made rhetorically). For example, Look Left may be partisan to WP, but one couldnt really call it an election leaflet.
For a start – people have to buy it.

Seen nothing like this in Look Left, that publication does not seem election obsessed – this publication is just one big promo. Read it today anti-intellectual drivel, why all the lies in it re his IRA service is just bizarre. On economics it seems to think sucking up to US multinationals is the way to end austerity, are SF now in claimed economic policy position to the right of FF?

This issue and the McG pres bid. It seems SF seek to take over FF by becoming FF, waste of time for Irish society but good news for the latest group of green ‘republicans’ who get to stick their snout in the trough and shit on the rest of us. The AnP marks a new stage I fear.

hope there sights are bigger than over taking FF. fair point that it reads like an election leaflet though there is an election and they are in it. if anything the paper to me appears rushed.bar the editorial its overall message seems unclear maybe a bit excited. don’t see how its evidence of a SF stratagy to position them selfs in to a position where there able to crap on you.
liked the history articles on maire drumm o dailaigh and katleen lynn. tracy’s article on the all Ireland. he gets criticized here a lot so just to add to it. he has writen a back page column for the last few years on GAA. clear biased but well informed can sometimes feel the pain and passion jumping of the page when he has written about Dublin glories and famine in the past and some people feel for it and some don’t and its usually very good in my opinion. this issues article though. was stop and start. Dublin are all Ireland champions. there was no gloating, maybe he has a code. he paid respect to Kerry and a gesture by tomas o se. he compared the last 8 minutes to a story out of roy of the rovers. he had some good ideas but just a bit of flag waving trown in to the mix, i think he should of alloud himself that.
