Which you’ll find here. Some interesting thoughts on the Peace Process and on Sean Quinn. Many thanks to BH who brought it to my attention…

On seeing the recent documentary on Bernadette McAliskey, I was struck by the idea that, of the two young ladies from Derry who became internationally famous in 1970, who would’ve bet that it would be Dana that would run for the Irish presidency twice and be elected to the European Parliament. The film demonstrated very well just how inspirational a figure McAliskey was at the time of her election, and what a shame it is that the conservative leadership on both sides of the Northern divide found her unpalatable as an outspoken radical woman.

Anyone think that the recent events in Belfast are worth a thread? What has changes since Bernadette was a teenager?

Actually I was thinking of doing something on that and on the recent march in Dungiven which saw nationalist flute bands play outside a Church of Ireland church but instead I’ll just provide this link to Slugger. More than enough info there for people to chew on
