This Weekend I’ll Mostly Be Listening to… The Harvest Ministers February 16, 2013

The Harvest Ministers another great Irish band, who are actually still around. I saw them first many moons ago in Whelans I think. A friend had sung their praises and I went along. On the strength of that gig I went off and bought their first album ‘Little Dark Mansion’, I listened to it quite a lot at the time partly as it was one of the few CDs I had.
It was a great album although sometimes quite melancholy and stark. For me ‘Railroaded’ was the standout track
They’ve had a few releases since then and I have some of them on CD also. The Jaunty ‘Cleaning Out The Store’ and ‘That Wont Wash’ are both from the album ‘A Feeling Mission’
Anyway enjoy.
You’ll find a bio of them and a session track ‘Teresa’ here on the great fanning Sessions site.
Their bio on the Irishrock.org site
‘Railroaded’
‘Modernising The New You’
‘Six O’Clock Is Rosary’
‘Cleaning Out The Store’
‘That Wont Wash’
‘Forfeit Trails’
‘The First Star’
‘Grey Matters’
‘You Do My World, the world of good’

Nice. I hadn’t realised they were still going.
Yeah, they released an album in 2010.
That recently, interesting.
