More on that – unique – IT web redesign… March 14, 2013

…check this out. A Q&A on mortgage arrears, where distinguishing between the Q’s and the A’s is made just that little bit more difficult by the new house style’s aversion to erm… bold text.
Well done the IT. They’re certainly developing a remarkable new style of communications approach: too large photos, too little text, too complicated navigation, too unwieldy front page… and the list goes on…
I thought the Independent redesign was dismal, but it’s considerably more legible.

I gather that there was also some issues with the new design and their online archive….. one of the presumably money making parts of their online presence.
The IT’s Online Archive is very useful, especially
for obscure bits of Irish history.
I’d echo what EWI and WBS have said about the
IT’s lamentably redesign.
The Irish Examiner’s interface is somewhat better,
thankfully.
That’s true, the Examiner is better. All this is a real case of it’s not broke…
It’s been an unmitigated disaster. The online website doesn’t at all match the paper’s layout and quality.
It’s like a cheap third-party aggregator of the IT, running a crappy Javascript-heavy SEO template.
Interesting n light of what you both say that there’s been no effort to amend it yet.
