Obviously celebrated this week, , and holiday greetings to all those in the US reading this, but this from Slate.com is in its own way a brilliant reflection on it.

Here’s an erudite piece on Thanksgiving which cites Benedict Anderson and Hobsbawm, but does not mention the massacres and genocide which accompanied the English settlement of New England; the myth is preserved.
