19 years after James Connolly’s death and the locals in his birth place were looking to defend themselves from anti catholic bigots.
The was a claim in Tom Gallagher’s book “Edinburgh Divided” that a local group (gang), the Blackie Boys from Blackfriars St, had gathered arms in the event of a Belfast style attack.
