Irony, what’s that? November 19, 2008

Quote of the decade from Dennis Pearce, a BNP member, on BBC News:

“Sadly, it’s as though we’re living in a fascist state where people are being victimised for being in a legitimate political party.”

That’s brilliant.

“ain’t no irony in the iron cross” as Skrewdriver didn’t sing

Now that we have this list, all we need is a time machine to travel back two decades, to the time when the BNP were actually interested in physically attacking immigrants and fighting anti-fascists. Then it’d be of some use.

As it stands, I can’t really get too excited about a bunch of idiots receiving threatening phone calls or being hounded from their jobs. Even morons have a right to their privacy.

Two other short points: One: lol @ a young member leaving after being told not to wear a bomber jacket, and two: this strikes me as something of a sideshow for ant-racists, as mainstream anti-immigration ideas are what they ought to be challenging, not those of the lunatic fringe.

Precisely. The publication of this list, which i have access to (not difficult) leaves you thinking as to the likelihood of some nutters targeting some of the families named and the consequences this could have in terms of further escalating poor community relations in the interface areas. Some of it is interesting however. Nice to see that the BNP havn’t neglected Sligo’s own Tubbercurry in their search for activists.
