This Week At The Irish Election Literature Blog… December 3, 2010
Posted by irishelectionliterature in Uncategorized.trackback
This weeks offerings start with a lovely early 70s poster from the Prisoners Aid Committee of Karl Marx and James Connolly with the Slogan “Free All Irish Political Prisoners”
From 2007 a Patricia McKenna leaflet with the unfortunate Slogan of “Trust The Greens: We Won’t Let You Down”
From 1991 another leaflet for Marian White of The Workers Party
From 2002 we have Marie Hoctors newsletter with the pre Mahon headline of “Bertie backs a Winner” and loads of pics of the candidate with various Ministers including one that looks like a waxwork of John O’Donoghue.
From 2008 a leaflet on “The Celtic Nightmare” from the Communist Party of Ireland which begins … “Everything appears to be getting out of control”…
Finally Two old Election Posters …. “Fianna Fail Faces Facts…. ” and “The Nation Needs Now! Clear Policy, Effective Leadership …. ”
and Finally Finally … “Warning -A Socialist Europe Is An Unemployed Europe”
In deference to the wonderful review of Eamon Sweeneys book by SonofStan you may notice that I’ve placed links to some leaflets from the early 80s in a widget on the top right of the Blog.
As ever if you have any requests ….
