This is interesting and entertaining……. a documentary following Charlie O’Connor and Conor Lenihan during their election campaign. Gives an idea of the abuse they got, the disenchantment with Fianna Fail and other bits of the campaign.
ahh thats after givin me a little chuckle. They got some roastin. Deserervadly, would have lovin to see this

I was surprised to hear Conor Lenihan give voters abuse after getting abuse from them. Didn’t reflect well on him at all.

‘surprised’? Really? 😉

John O’Donoghue did it in Kerry.
And, although not quite the same, Dick Roche showed the same attitude when he was asked why he thought he would pull ahead after a recount.

I have changed my mind about the remarks by Conor Lenihan at end of the programme. Initially, I thought he showed a better sense of proportion than some others on losing his seat. But when I re-ran it in my mind afterwards, I thought saying losing his seat wasn’t as bad as the death of relatives of a friend his, was hubris.

Well, I, for one, don’t keep a switchblade by the front door for when canvassers come calling.
