Thought this might be of interest, it’s pen pics from the Local paper of 3 of the Left wing candidates running in Limerick East in 1977. Independents Jim Kemmy and Joe Harrington with Fergus Reynolds of Sinn Féin the Workers’ Party.
You’ll notice that Harrington was sponsored by The Limerick Working Class paper The Bottom Dog (There is an issue of it in The Left Archive)
Harrington polled 122 votes, Reynolds 262 and Kemmy 2,333 votes.

Joe was in Peoples Democracy then. He supported the ULA candidate in the recent election. He has an online radio show.
