The Governments Electronic Voting Site is still online January 12, 2012

It made the news today that all the electronic voting machines and accessories are for sale.
And Would you believe that http://www.electronicvoting.ie/ is still online. Don’t know how much extra keeping the site alive cost but it hardly would have been free. You can even download a little demo app.

Just noting over on PW

“the returning officers took out leases of up to 25 years to store controversial e-voting machines, even though they only have a lifespan of 20 years.”

This was in 2007. Will be interesting to see where they end up as the same year current CC Sean Barrett said

25-year storage agreements were a case of “throwing bad money after good'” and “bordering on lunacy”.

“None of it makes any sense and the amount of money being spent on storage is incredible,”
