The graphics at the start, the figures stuck on stairs and in a concrete complex is oddly appropriate.

Some fairly upsetting stuff there and a good precis, Ross Golden Bannon’s point about not being interested in food/restuarants but in spending money is depressing. And we still see the same crap attitude being whipped up ‘trophy houses ‘mentioned in the SBP by a property person.

And the central point – the government neglected to ask what the debts would be following on from the bank guarantee. On a political level it makes me wonder how FF still gets 17 per cent. Is it denial? Ignorance? And on an economic level how is it that our representatives continue to stand over something that is so utterly inequities.

One thought that struck me. The US journalist was talking about a real phenomenon but one restricted to a middle class/upper middle class coterie, because after all, who is in on the inside?

I also thought it interesting in that this is what many people across the world were viewing about Ireland. The folly of the Bank Guarantee does stick out like a sore thumb and to think Lenihan is still lauded in some quarters!
