Just a quick word to say thank you as always to all of you who comment, post, send in suggestions, documents for the Archive, and collectively and individually contribute to this site (and others), particularly as we race towards 7 full years online. Always appreciated and never taken for granted.
It was good to meet up with some of you this year and hopefully will meet up with more in 2013.
It’s also important to say thanks to all the other people online and off who are involved in the Irish left, it’s heartening how many there are these days…
Other than that have a great Christmas and New Year.

“every card a socialist argument”
Well there are certainly a few socialist arguments here from time to time 🙂
Hopefully you haven’t run out of steam yet after 7 years on-line with CLR!
Merry christmas to all.

Thanks for all the hard work. The CLR is a welcome antidote to most of the other commentary I read everyday.
Happy Christmas to all!

Got a marvelous present (thanks John): an annotated and introduced facsimile of the Christmas 1912 edition of Jim Larkin’s newspaper, ‘The Irish Worker’. Fascinating! Available from the Irish Labour History Society. Includes a short story by James Connolly in which he anticipates the Lock Out to come in the following year.

Congratulations indeed to the publishers of the Christmas 1912 edition of Jim Larkin’s “The Irish Worker” – but some fans of this literary/political gem were a little baffled by the choice of speaker at the launch – none other than former Labour Leader Pat Rabbitte, scourge of “plinth pirouettista” Colm Keaveney! Some people reported an unconfirmed rumour that Deputy Rabbitte was unable to attend that launch, which may have been a relief to many socialists in attendance! http://tomasoflatharta.com/2012/12/26/killer-rabbit-or-pat-rabbitte-preference/
