From the 1983 Westminster Elections a leaflet from Sinn Fein, “Sinn Fein -The Voice of Principled Leadership”
From the 1997 General Election a leaflet from Liz McManus who was running for the Democratic Left
From the 1983 Dublin Central By-Election a leaflet from Sinn Fein candidate Christy Burke. Amongst the issues raised in the leaflet are Section 31, Water Rates, TDs Pay and pensions.
and finally “Why The Irish Vote On The Maastricht E.C. Treaty is a Vote On Abortion”
EamonnCork asked about search terms recently after I remarked how ‘Gilmore Workers Party’ was getting a lot of searches. I get a lot of searches with queries about the sexuality of certain politicians (which I wont reveal) and get odd ones like my favourite one ever “Wife swapping in Louth”
In the past week aside from various Gilmore / Rabbitte WP searches and sexuality ones.. the top 5 were
trocaire
Fine Gael Abortion
fine gael support regional hospital
gary o’flynn
50th anniversary of 1916 rising
history of divorce in ireland
and hidden in there ‘who makes church plaques?’
You should see some of the search terms I get…

The PW blog gets lots of what looks like special advisers googling themselves, daily. Though not so much those who’s reputation they’re meant to be looking after. Similar to the sexuality above there’s also a fair bit of ” [public figure] fraud ” too.

My all-time favourite (though there are several very good runners-up) was “women try to skip for sex with troll”.
Hope they eventually found what they were looking for, whatever it was.
