Boo-hoo, my book wasn’t reviewed in the papers!

Of course that means that anti-intellectualism is rife in the media.

No chance that my book was simply not of interest to anyone outside of the well-paid confines of the professionally outraged classes.

Fascism is on the rise in Donegal. Riiight!

For profit education, such a terrible thing! This from someone *profiting* to the tune of well over EUR100k a year from, ahem, education.

No awareness of how the state could possibly afford to fund an extremely expensive luxury like Kathleen Lynch and also fund disability services. But she’s godmother to two travellers, that puts her on the side of the angels!

Please don’t clap when I boast of donating to charity. Ah OK go on then, stroke my ego!

We need to spend money on QUANGOs monitoring traveller illiteracy. Not of course of teaching travellers to read!

I worked for nothing for 8 years! Well nothing except the EUR100k+ that the state pays me.

Everyone should be required to invest in their pension! Except me, I should get mine heavily subsidized by the taxpayer.

Forbenius, Kathleen Lynch is one of my heroes. And I’m on her side.

Exactly. ‘Forbenius’ is quite the wit, but s/he doesn’t really address fundamental issues, for example, who sets Lynch’s wage, it’s not Lynch, nor is it she who organises the structure of her pension, nor is receiving a wage while being in education the equivalent of for-profit education. Nor indeed is it an either/or between disability funding and funding positions in primary, secondary or tertiary education – and by the by, if one wishes to claw back salary expenditure for state benefit let’s tax higher income earners more. Both those in private and public sectors on such salaries can offer up the required.

There may be a discussion to be had about salary levels in some parts of the education sector, or indeed the private sector, but this isn’t it.
