As always, following on Dr. X’s suggestion, it’s all yours, “announcements, general discussion, whatever you choose”, feel free.
Ni dieu ni maître. Ni patrie, ni patron.

What is the point of Trident etc., except for being a self-justification for the nuclear fission industry?

Does anybody know of an accessible source on property rights under socialism?

Do you mean under “socialism as it ought to be” or “actually existing socialism”?

Either or both would do.

Try Evgeny Pashukanis. He was a legal theorist in the Soviet Union who was eventually shot by Stalin because of his views on law and Marxism.

His stuff is quite theoretical and I have only begun reading him myself, but he does deal broadly with the issues you are interested in.

It might be profitable to look at something about the Chinese move to end collectivism in the early 1980s and the responsible households approach.
Old Deng wrote a fair bit and maybe there is stuff there on that . Whether you can fit that into an overview of socialism is another thing!

I don’t know, but you could try the Marxists Internet Archive:

Marx at the Margins: On Nationalism, Ethnicity, and Non-Western Societies
Kevin B. Anderson
In Marx at the Margins, Kevin Anderson uncovers a variety of extensive but neglected texts by the well-known political economist which cast what we thought we knew about his work in a startlingly different light. Analyzing a variety of Marx’s writings,
He wrote a book on Connolly, McLean and others, If my memory serves. There is a chapter on Ireland in this. It is free, so what not to like

This wild guessing, and statement of such as fact, gets up my wick:
“Archaelogists said the body which is believed to be a member of historic royalty, was almost certainly put to the sword by his own people.
The body is missing its head, which has never been recovered.”
Because god knows you couldn’t lose your head from your shoulders in any other fashion in ancient days.

Another possible reason for Amazon’s boldness is its apparently cozy relationship with the Obama administration–whose Justice Department pursued the agency model case, which mainly benefited Amazon. This relationship will be highlighted this coming Tuesday, when the president will give another major speech on the economy and aiding the middle class at, of all places, the Amazon warehouse in Chattanooga, Tenn. This is roughly equivalent of going to a Wal-Mart and calling for more of the kinds of jobs it offers.

The guardian live crisis blog comments on the KKE having to sell its TV/radio interests and has what seems to be a laugh at the position the KKE finds itself in.
http://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/aug/06/eurozone-crisis-italy-recess
‘Back in the eurozone, and Greece is digesting the surprising news the economic crisis has hit the radio and TV stations owned by the country’s once powerful KKE communist party.
After leading the way in protests against austerity measures demanded in return for loans from the EU and IMF, the party has announced it will shut down the broadcaster (as our regular readers flagged up in yesterday afternoon’s blog).
“Even the KKE has had to bow to the inevitable: cost-cutting in the modern age. Taking a leaf out of the hated handbook of its neo-liberal enemies, the communist party has caused shock and awe announcing the sale of its 902 radio and television stations to an, as yet, unnamed private investor. The transfer is expected to be concluded by the end of August. All 48 staff will be laid off with immediate effect.
Employees were told in no uncertain terms this week that short of accepting a “a haircut” on their salaries (rumoured at around 40%) they would not be able to retain jobs in the party (the majority will be moved on to two other business enterprises owned by the KKE).
Support for the communist party, once one of the wealthiest organisations in Greece, has dwindled dramatically since the crisis began. But four years of battling neo-liberal policies have, it seems, also paid off: the comrades in arms have learned how to mimic their enemy well.” ‘
