I’d like to say you need to get out more Garibaldy but then again I spent 3 hours last night watching a BBC4 documentary on the History of the Eagles. I don’t even like the Eagles.

Who does?
Just on Jersey Shore Shark Attack, that’s Paul Sorvino there. WTF?

Eh, some people do. I’d better say no more as this is a public discussion. Let’s just say I don’t usually get indulged with unopposed access to the TV remote on a Friday night.

Say it ain’t so about the Eagles. Surely that can’t be true… 🙂
But being serious, it’s funny how compelling the history of groups can be, doesn’t matter what genre. Like you I’ve sat for hours in front of stuff about music I actually don’t like.

That’s it, it’s the history rather than the music. Well on my end of the sofa at least. That Joe Walsh is some character, hard not to like him compared to the huge egos of the other pair, whose names I genuinely can’t recall. Self importance in a way that only 70s California and Bono can do.

I had one eye on that as well. It was an excellent documentary once you remembered to hit the mute button every time the music came on.

I spent two hours last night watching “Archer” season 1 and
very good it was too. 🙂
My father loves the Eagles, BTW, and he also likes those
other Dad-rock staples Phil Collins and Dire Straits.

The horror… the horror… (Phil Collins and Dire Straits!).

I’d watch that.

PBS America had Wim Wenders’ film on the blues. Caught the the last 45 minutes featuring astonishing performers JB Lenoir and Skip James. The former died from negligent medical treatment after a car accident in 1967 and was working as a dishwasher at the time. His songs and guitar playing were outstanding. Worth watching.
