June Rogers latest to be approached by Fianna Fail to run in Dublin December 17, 2013

Following on from the rumoured approaches to Anne Doyle, Peter Mathews, Gay Byrne, Syl Fox, someone off Fair City and David Hall, the latest name to appear on Fianna Fails Dublin MEP race radar is one of Ireland’s top comic performers, June Rogers.
The popular Tallaght native, a regular guest on Joe Duffy’s “Funny Fridays” , is understood to be mulling over the offer.
An anonymous possible Fianna Fail source commented
“Allegedly Michael Martin was at the June Rogers Christmas show in the Red Cow recently and came away highly impressed. Approaches were then made through various intermediaries and we understand that June is interested and will let us know her intentions when the panto season is over.”
An anonymous possible Fianna Fail source also commented that
“Comedian Brendan Grace was also under consideration but his likeness to Health Minister James Reilly ruled him out.”
At present the only declared candidates are former Senator Geraldine Feeney and Tiernan Brady, the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network policy director.
Have the new European Semester and post Troika supervision arrangements pushed April Fool’s Day forward as well as the budget?

So FF are thinking about running a joke candidate – maybe they should think about Bertie or Brian as well if they are going down that route

Meanwhile FF’s selection process seems to be a bit of a pantomine http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/chaos-at-ff-selection-contest-as-human-chain-formed-to-block-count-29843591.html
