“Incorrect’ or ‘Not the answer we’re looking for’? Surely all three did resign from high office amidst controversy.

5. Browne and O’Donoghue were made Ministers on being elected for the first time, don’t know about Boland, maybe the same? The useless things one learns from reading Ruairi Quinn’s auto-biography!

I’ll have a go –
1. I think it has only happened twice (on the same day) – Sligo-Leitrim and Dublin North in March 1925. A spate of resignations by C na nG TDs occurred over the Army Mutiny in 1924.
2. My guess is that it would have to be Hugh Coveney – he’s the only TD that would have been a noted sailor at the time.
3. Midlands – North-West
4. Don’t know – but I have a sneeky feeling that Paddy could be right
5. As above – for LatC – Boland was appointed Minister for Defence on his first day in the Dail. Paddy is also right about Dukes and Niamh Bhreathnach also was (and it depresses me that I knew that).
6. As Clive said – it was the b***oc**
7. No idea on this one – McSwiney’s daughter did marry Ruairi Brugha.
8. Clive is spot on again – Bill Loughnane
9. Michael Noonan
10. Noel Davern – the gobsh*te was related to my wife.
