Spotted this ad in The Blanchardstown Gazette, interesting the prominence of Mary Lou McDonald as opposed to the Party Leader.

I don’t think it makes sense.

Much of the overlapping area is the Phoenix Park. If she’s staying in Dublin Central, McDonald has no overlap with Mulhuddart or Castleknock. And her constituency is within the boundaries of one local authority and these local election candidates are running in LEAs for a different council.

Isn’t MaryLou the anointed one, in terms of who Adams has selected as next leader? Who better to symbolise New Sinn Fein that a pleasant, respectable middle class woman?

Excellent photoshopping for Mary Lou there. That, or she fell into a vat of botox.

In the same way that I don’t trust priests who wear toupees, I don’t trust politicians who need to doctor their posters. Remember Bertie and the money he spent on makeup.

Does that ever get asked about the airbrushed candidates for men.
Welcome to the real world where people always ensure the best photo is used no matter what.

Have we any details on Mr. Lukusa? Interesting that a New Irish person would choose SF as a political vehicle.

Tweets a fair bit of Mandela quotes so they would be his natural home… https://twitter.com/LukusaE/media

From DR Congo. He has been in Sinn Fein for seven years. Nothing too major in terms of philosophy on fb page but pretty regular updates. https://www.facebook.com/EdmondLukusaSF Personally I hope he does well.

Interesting thing historically is that Roger Casement carried out research at the end of the 19th century into King Leopold’s admin of the Congo Free State (later Belgian Congo, then Zaire) and exposed the brutal near slavery conditions of Africans working in rubber plantations.
