The last Few Days at Irish Election Literature May 20, 2014

Posted by irishelectionliterature in Irish Election Literature Blog.

Been inundated with stuff so I figured I’d do a selection  from the past few days

the above is a former SF candidate running as an Independent in Fermoy.

“Vote Against Austerity and  Abortion Vote Malachy Steenson”

“Interest Free Currency for Kildare Now!” poster and leaflet from Cathal Spelman an Independent in Naas

An Odd one from Richie Smith in Limerick

A leaflet from Pádraic “a’ Táillúra” Ó Conghaile who is running as an Independent in Conamara

“Labour Guilty of Attacking The People They Promised To Protect” leaflet from Sinn Fein

“…a name renowned for the delivery of genuine politics.” a canvass card from Kevin O’Keefe who is running for Fianna Fail in Fermoy

Theresa Heaney of The Catholic Democrats running in Ireland South

“Water is a Human Right” a leaflet from Workers Party Lucan and Clondalkin candidates Michael Finnegan and Lorraine Hennessy

Funny to see the flag of Gaelic Ireland on a poster. Surely been a while since that last appeared.

Why the rancher nickname

Michael Carley - May 20, 2014

The one at top left looks Italian.

que - May 20, 2014

Willie Frazer might be along to protest then about the Italian flag

Which just goes to show – you open the floodgates to Euro-Immigrants and the next thing is they’re flags start popping up on your native posters!

Perhaps a sumliminal message to Fine Gael, trying to attract their no. 2s.

Cl - May 20, 2014

The nickname, i mean

2. Tomboktu - May 20, 2014

Does anybody else think that Tom Darcy, running for Direct Democracy Ireland in Dublin (euro) looks like George Osborne?

Joe - May 21, 2014

Didn’t clock what he looks like. All I know is he wants WAR.

3. Tomboktu - May 20, 2014

How many ex-Labour members are running as independents? I count: Cian O’Callaghan, Dermot Looney, Paul Dillon and Nessa Childers, in Dublin and John King in Meath. There must be more.

There’s around 30, Have a list in progress of the former Parties of Ind candidates

Tomboktu - May 21, 2014

I forgot Tony Stafford wrote n Lucan, though his problem was the Tuffy clan, not the Labour Party’s performance in Government.

I rather like ‘penalising the clean.’

They want to turn us all into crusties, dontcha know! Apologies to my crusty acquaintances for the stereotype.

What I like also like about Ritchie’s is that he obviously knocked the poster up in Word or something and blew it up. It has a certain monochrome period charm.

I expectorate on your big party graphic design!
