Right. Yes. He wrote and published a children’s book that I remember from my time working in public libraries. It was an attempt to write something that would be easier to understand for working class children in Dublin – so it was written the way the kids were talking in those days, the eighties. A noble effort. I don’t think this line came from his book but I remember hearing some young lads talking back then and one of them said “stall it down shoppo” which I think meant “let’s go down to the shopping centre”.
If I’m not mistaken, Burton taught in primary school around the Sheriff St area. Followed a decade later by Aodháin O Ríordáin. And Finian McGrath taught in the north inner city too. And Alison Gilliland, Labour Cllr elected in Beaumont Donaghmede, taught in Darndale.

Get a grip was the name of the book. It’s still on the catalogue of Dublin City Libraries – Get a grip, illustrated by Martin Brennan
Dublin, Slot, 44 seville place, dublin 1, 1992.

So he probably taught in St Laurence O’Toole’s primary school in Seville Place. The crest on their school jumpers has this motto: “Larriers – strong and proud”. I wonder was he responsible for that too? Fair play.
