This weekend I’ll mostly be listening to… Danny and Dusty “The Lost Weekend” December 13, 2014

As some of you may have gathered I’m a fan of the groups that comprised the “Paisley Underground” movement. Danny and Dusty were a Paisley Underground Supergroup. “The Lost Weekend” line up consisted of Dan Stuart, Chris Cavacas and Dennis Duck of Green on Red and the Dream Syndicate’s Steve Wynn along with Sid Griffin, Stephen McCarthy, and Tom Stevens from the Long Ryders. It was recorded over three day alcohol fueled session in Los Angeles. They played a few shows to support the album when it was originally released in 1985. It was a lot more Country like than some material from the bands concerned. “Baby We All Gotta Go Down” is probably my favourite track from it although “SOng for dreamers” probably runs it close.
In 2007 they reunited and recorded the album “Cast Iron Soul” and released a live album from the subsequent tour “Here’s to You Max Morlock”.

This is fantastic, I’d never heard of these sessions EL and they’re brilliant. Thanks a million.

I still have the vinyl version of that album, bought many years ago.. Very good record. Miracle Mile and Down to the Bone were my two favourite tracks on it, but their version of Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door was great too. I also have double live CD of them in Germany, I think it might have been in Nuremberg; that’s very good too,
