This Weekend I’ll Mostly Be Listening to… Same Title Different Song August 29, 2015

trackback

Sometimes you think it might be a cover version but it turns out its just a song of the same name. I’ve left out ones like “The Power of Love”, “Runaway” and tried to include just the one band. An awful lot of Beatles tracks have names that have been used by other songs.
Other examples welcome….

Funny you should post about this. Some time ago there was great excitement amongst some Hawkwind fans because Bruce Springsteen was meant to be covering Hurry On Sundown, one of their early classics. Sadly it turned out that Springsteen was releasing Hurry Up Sundown, an entirely different song.

U-2 weren’t the greatest for original song titles were they? Here’s another One to add to IEL’s two Ones.

And because all threads can benefit from the addition of The Atrix (whatever about the other two).

(Extremely fond of the first two, the third is as dodgy an eighties artefact as you’ll ever come across).

Originally I was going to do just multiple versions of the one song title, but there was so much there I had to expand it. You’ve found some great (and not so great ) tunes.

And on an associated tangent. Three very different, and excellent versions, of the same song in different languages.
