Today in the Dáil April 6, 2016

It’s going to be extremely exciting as they attempt to form another government, or rather elect a Taoiseach, and fail.

I wonder if this issue, raised by John McManus in the IT this morning in a neatly sarcastic and cynical piece, will be addressed?

Vladimir Putin’s spokesman is right. [The Panama Papers] has all been made up to damage and discredit the rich, powerful and successful. The only rational explanation is the International Consortuim of Investigative Journalists and its henchmen – including The Irish Times – have spent the last 12 months fabricating 11.5 million documents – or if you prefer 2.7 terabytes of data. They have concocted an elaborate backstory about a law firm in Panama, complete with a link to the Nazis.

I’d hope questions will be asked by AAA/PBP and SF in the Dáil, if they are allowed.

I see that the Irish Times is reporting connections between the Séan Quinn affair(s) and Mossack Fonseca.

He says carefully with one eye on the libel lawyers.

There’s so much coming out in the Süddeutsche Zeitung (including fascinating stuff about a private detective turned secret agent for hire) that it’s hard to keep track of.

So the Panama Papers will keep giving, I suspect, rather than being a one-day wonder.

Good to see NATO’s tame chocolate oligarch in the Ukraine continuing to take the heat.

Adjourned for another 8 days. Will we have FG/FF talks in that time or will FF spend the time trying to woo the Independents to get more votes than FG and have Martin as Taoiseach?
The public will be getting sicker and sicker of the charade.
