A Map of Workers Party Candidates in Local Election 1974 to 1985 June 3, 2016

I was talking recently to a man from Monaghan who was giving me some old WP posters. He remarked that they had been strong in his part of the world for a time in the 70’s and 80’s. I’ve done this map which will indicate where OSF/ SFWP /WP were active in the 1974 to 1985 period. Where they grew and where they got weaker. ….
There’s a menu in the map if you expand it showing 1974, 1979 and 1985

Would you be able to send me a copy of the data file you used for this?

Hi Eoin,
I did it using results from here http://www.irelandelection.com/elections.php?electype=5 as opposed to a data file. I have those Local Election results in excel format here.

Great piece of visualised data.

For anyone who (like me) couldn’t at work out how to get at the key – just click in the Icon on the top left.

Red = ’74
Green = ’79
Blue = ’85
