Mind those around us… June 3, 2016Posted by WorldbyStorm in Uncategorized.
Thanks to the person who sent this:
I have been continuing my meetings with individual Ministers this week, including the Minister for Social Protection, Leo Varadkar TD and Minister for Mental Health & Older People, Helen McEntee TD.
These meetings are about identifying particular areas to prioritise in the time ahead and to outline plans to ensure deadlines are met.
The Government is committed to solving the housing crisis, a fact emphasised in the first instance by my decision to appoint a Minister for Housing, Simon Coveney TD, to the new Cabinet.
You may not be aware, however, of moves to implement an extensive plan of action to tackle this issue, similar to the Action Plan on Jobs, which contained measures to help a great many Irish people back to work during the last Government term.
This new plan forms part of the agreed Programme for Government.
One in four of us will have an issue with our mental health at some stage in our lives.
As a nation, we must not alone become mindful of ourselves, we must also mind those around us.
I want you to be aware that this new Government has an ambitious strategy on mental health and you can find out more on page 65 of the Programme for Government.
I hope you are all enjoying the fine weather.
This morning, I was delighted to visit the Bloom Festival in the Phoenix Park, which is a must for anyone interested in all things gardening.
The annual explosion of colour and vibrancy that is Bloom grows in popularity each year and it really is a great family day out, particularly on a beautiful day such as this.
Do enjoy it if you happen to go along!
