The Old Men at the Zoo from BBC TV July 10, 2016

Anyone remember this? I think I caught a few episodes when it was shown in 1983. Based on a novel by Angus Wilson it’s a harsh dystopian satire. Very harsh in places as some of the later episodes will attest though it takes its time to get going. Oddly the premise for a war seems somewhat more likely now than it did then. I always remember the faux Nazi symbol at the heart of a union flag that appears in later episodes. It fits into much the same category of television dystopias such as the Aerodrome. Great title sequence too.

I remember it and would like to see it on DVD.I strongly objected to their shooting potentially dangerous animals- they should have been given a chance!
