I’m not much entranced by horror. Always preferred science fiction. But I do like SF crossed with horror. And oddly, looking at this season kicking off today at the IFI in Dublin there’s a lot of films apparently corralled in the ‘Folk Horror’ genre that I like too. The Wicker Man, Blair Witch Project and… look here, Quatermass and the Pit (1967), which was mentioned on the CLR a while back. And not only but also, introduced by the pretty great Kim Newman, author and author and author of many many many books in the horror and related genres (I’m serious about the author, author, author bit. How he finds the time to write so many is a mystery in itself).
