Gewerkschaftler suggested this recently:

I suggest this blog should have a regular (weekly) slot where people can post happenings at the personal or political level that gives them hope that we’re perhaps not going to hell in a handbasket as quickly as we thought. Or as the phlegmatic Germans put it “hope dies last”.

Any contributions this week?

Defo nothing this week – perhaps next week. 😦

Am I alone in detecting significant levels of support for the bus workers? Even RTE are acknowledging some support.

Went home last night somewhat cheered by the sunshine (still summer here) and the girls playing and singing pop songs in German and English on the largely pedestrianised road and the bit of green out the back of the flats.

They seem to favour those wiggly two-wheeled atriculated-in-the-middle skateboards. I’ve no idea what they are called.

Trying to link a video of the rebel song tradition alive and well in tjeTipp dressing room after Sunday’s match as a sign of hope. Seems though i cant post it -maybe cause its owned by Sky. So perhaps an unhopeful sign of more commodificaiton in the GAA , which doesnt seem to realise that too much marketing is going to corrode the voluntary ethic which makes the GAA great.

Anyway the Tipp lads gave a rousing rendition of the Galtee Mountain Boy after their mighty win over the Cats .
