Declan Flynn September 12, 2016

Posted by WorldbyStorm in Uncategorized.

As noted in the Left Archive this week this is the anniversary of the murder of Declan Flynn, a young man beaten to death in Fairview Park on 9th September 1983 in a so-called ‘gay-bashing’ attack. Those involved were released, as noted here on Come Here To Me some years back:

The five male teenagers were all released on a suspended manslaughter charge with Judge Sean Gannon saying “This could never be regarded as murder”.

The barbarity of the crime points up how far we have come from them, but as this and this shows not as far as might be hoped.
