Pensions September 15, 2016

Here’s an arresting thought from Will Hutton in the Observer.

Four out of five low-paid workers fail to escape low pay after 10 years, declares the report, while 30% of working-age people [in the UK] can’t afford to pay into an occupational or private pension scheme.

And I’ll bet of those who can afford the contributions they can make are next to nothing. Next time we are treated to some breathless prose about the importance of all workers having private pensions perhaps that can be kept in mind.

Are equivalent figures for RoI easily available? Do such figures even exist?
