As noted by RiD in comments. Very sorry to hear this news. Was never the greatest fan but he wrote some wonderful songs in a career that if anything seemed to see him more popular in recent times than way back when.

Cohen had a soulful voice that bonded especially with women. Many years ago I knew a Canadian woman who worshiped him. She must be feeling heartbroken today. His love songs will endure. The choral backings to several of his songs are excellent, although when singing unaccompanied he could hold an audience spellbound.

It’s what some people say where I come from, meaning it puts me off, annoying me. I thought that sometimes you were just giving jibes. Now, I think otherwise.

I re-read today what I wrote last night and I thought: what a piece of shit! For example, an ambiguous phrase (wrecking my buzz) and a poor attempt at comedy (prescription). At least you did me the courtesy of asking me to explain what I meant. Then I added to problems by using a fancy word (jibes) and a final sentence which is meaningless (I think otherwise).
I tend to do these things when I am tired, puzzled and responding quickly. I guess the next time I try to openly and honestly critically evaluate what is being said, I will have to try harder instead.
