There may be a grain of truth in this… November 12, 2016

Donald Trump realises that being President all day every day for four years may not be all that it’s cracked up to be.

Then there’s this from Charles Stross. Wouldn’t agree with all this analysis at all or his predictions but some of it rings true.

“The aging, shrinking demographic of angry white racists in the USA were energized by Trump, and the fear of losing their locked-in privilege.”-Strosser.

“it started under Ronald Reagan in Flint, in Detroit, where people lost tens of thousands of jobs, and their lives were decimated and they were kicked out of the middle class and when Reagan fired the air traffic controllers and other unions didn’t stand up and say anything or do anything, that was the end right there. And it just got worse and worse and worse for working people,”-Michael Moore

Trump’s victory has a racist backlash component, but the dispossessed workers, black and white, described by Michael Moore are not the privileged class.

Its complicated. Always difficult to distinguish the interrelations of race and class:

“Democrats were far more dependent on white working-class voters than many believed…
In the end, the bastions of industrial-era Democratic strength among white working-class voters fell to Mr. Trump. So did many of the areas where Mr. Obama fared best in 2008 and 2012. In the end, the linchpin of Mr. Obama’s winning coalition broke hard to the Republicans”

‘Bannon will be the chief strategist and senior counselor to President Donald Trump….
Under his leadership, Breitbart became an anti-“globalist” news site clearly aligned with the European far right.’
