If you really want to see how this will affect policy, and arguably more importantly the discourse here’s the list of those who are in contention or being appointed. It’s worth digging deeper too, for example the views of many appear to be racially charged, anti-lgbtq, utterly compromised by business attachments.

Reading this in the Guardian, what’s the tally on the Trump administration picks so far?

Creationist/intelligent design supporter
User of racially charged language and the page isn’t long enough to outline the problems…

Hardline national security state proponent

Hardline national military state proponent

Climate change denier

It’s going to be a long four years. And arguably the most right wing administration in living memory.

How far back would you have to go to get a similar right-wing cabinet? Reagan? Nixon? Warren G. Harding? Heck, if we discount
Presidents of the UNITED States, how about Jefferson Davis?

“Flynn notoriously sees Islamic militancy not only as a danger, but as an existential threat to the US. He tweeted earlier this year that “fear of Muslims is RATIONAL”….
A striking feature of the aspirants for senior office under Trump is a level of personal greed high even by the usual standards of Washington..
Trump.. and his henchmen have already frightened and enraged hundreds of millions of Muslims and vastly expanded the constituency to which the jihadis can appeal…
There have always been crackpots in Washington, sometimes in high office, but the number of dangerous people who have attached themselves to the incoming administration may be higher today than at any time in American history…
Isis is having a good week.”

“[M]embers of labor unions, and unorganized unskilled workers, will sooner or later realize that their government is not even trying to prevent wages from sinking or to prevent jobs from being exported.
…will decide that the system has failed and start looking around for a strongman to vote for..

The left, both cultural and political, eventually abandoned economic justice in favor of identity politics, leaving too many people feeling freaked out or ignored.

“It is as if the American Left could not handle more than one initiative at a time,” Mr. Rorty wrote. “As if it either had to ignore stigma in order to concentrate on money, or vice versa.”

-Trump’s plans do not amount to a rejection of neoliberalism. Fletcher writes, “Trump focused on the symptoms inherent in neoliberal globalization, such as job loss, but his was not a critique of neoliberalism. He continues to advance deregulation, tax cuts, anti-unionism, etc.-
