Who made him president of the World? November 22, 2016

Posted by WorldbyStorm in Uncategorized.

Downing Street and the Foreign Office have slapped down a suggestion from the US president-elect, Donald Trump, that Nigel Farage would be a good ambassador to Washington, as MPs said the Ukip leader’s inflammatory views made him a poor candidate for a diplomatic post.

Interesting to see England and Scotland treated almost interchangeably in the following.

Andy Wigmore, a communications officer for one of the groups campaigning to leave the EU who was at the meeting alongside Farage, told the Daily Express: “We covered a lot of ground during the hour-long meeting we had.
“But one thing Mr Trump kept returning to was the issue of wind farms. He is a complete Anglophile and also absolutely adores Scotland, which he thinks is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. But he is dismayed that his beloved Scotland has become overrun with ugly wind farms, which he believes are a blight on the stunning landscape.”

Given the likely high degree correlation of overlap between the Brexiteers and the GWPF, Richard Tol may be finding himself in a quandary as an EU citixen working in the UK (notwithstanding the present opportunity to score a twofer with passive-aggressiving about windfarms in Scotland).

Just a tactical question. Should there not be a demonstration at the American Embassy on 20/01 (Inauguration day) and if not, why not ?

I would agree with such a protest-indeedm there’s already been one anti-Trump protest at the Embassy:

My own suggestion is that any such protest express solidarity with the Americans suffering thanks to Trump’s unleashing of racialist and sectarian hatred:

“Every signal we have from the president-elect points to an administration defined by three core tenets: white supremacy, unprecedented corporate influence and an uptick in state violence.”

So Trump as the American Hendrik Verwoerd then?

‘The president-elect has apparently been honing this racial animus for decades….
In 1989, Trump led the charge against the Central Park Five—a group of black and Latino teenagers falsely accused of raping a white female jogger. Trump purchased full-page newspaper ads suggesting the young men be executed, and despite the fact they have since been exonerated thanks in part to DNA evidence, Trump continues to purport their guilt.’

Standing Rock started under Obama, it needs to be pointed out, who has presided over an expansion of the police state which began under Bill Clinton.

And Wikileaks showed Hillary to be just a posher version of ‘drill, baby, drill’ when it came to the environment.

That’s true of course. Trump doesn’t take power for another two months. In the meantime…
“In the space of just 24 hours this week, the president-elect set off cyclones near and far that preview the drama he seems likely to bring to the White House.”
How long can this go on? Indefinitely?
