Secularism, agnosticism and atheism used to be fairly high up in the agenda of Socialists. It seems to have slipped. At least in my opinion.

I would say that Socialism has fallen off the agenda of too many secularists, agnostics and atheists. The noisiest of them (vide Dawkins, the late C,Hitchens) seem to be too busy fighting God to have time for the more immediate oppression of Mammon.

That’s a great line occonnorlysaght re ‘socialism has fallen off the agenda of…’ I think you’re right. Though the opposite dynamic too is evident at times, as Jim says.

Very happy to celebrate the great scientist so long as that doesn’t implicitly put me in the company of fundamentalist atheists like Dawkins.
