An appalling event in Manchester last night with – as of now – 22 people murdered by a suicide bomber. Campaigning in the UK General Election has been suspended.

Social media really does bring out the worst in people, and this atrocity is no exception. Katie Hopkins tweeted this earlier:

” “22 dead – number rising. Schofield. Don’t you even dare. Do not be part of the problem. We need a final solution. #Manchester”

She is the lowest kind of trash: probably not even a genuine bigot: it’s hard to imagine her giving a toss about anything other than herself. She just plays one in the media, with supreme cynicism.

Daesh and their admirers are scum. Assuming it turns out to be Daesh.

That said, will May react as Daesh want? Anyone who’s been paying attention knows what that entails.

Will she use the horror for electoral ends? Troops on the street for the elections?
