I’m not sure but I don’t think the Club Uí Chadhain location is owned by the WP. I remember being in there a few times in the 80s with people. Cheap pint!

On the side of temperance, Gajs Restaurant in Lower Baggot Street was during the 1960s and 1970s an informal evening meeting place for penny-pinching artists, writers, students and fringe politicos. The food was cheap and every evening except Friday (when people went to eat) you could linger over a sole cup of tea or coffee while discussing ways to right the world’s problems. Is there a political cafe society around town nowadays?

Good question, I don’t know. Anyone else know?
