Signs of Hope – A continuing series June 14, 2018

I suggest this blog should have a regular (weekly) slot where people can post happenings at the personal or political level that gives them hope that we’re perhaps not going to hell in a handbasket as quickly as we thought. Or as the phlegmatic Germans put it “hope dies last”.

Yowza! After a massive long campaign, and quite possibly on the back of the Irish win, Argentinian women and their supporters got a right to abortion up to 14 weeks through the lower house in a narrow but historic win.

The campaigners calculate that at least 3000 Argentinian women have died as a result of back-street and DIY abortions.

Now on to the upper house!
