Tendentious behaviours? September 26, 2018

Do people agree with the characterisation by the IT of the Public Accounts Committee as ‘tendentious’ in its behaviour in recent years in relation to its investigations? The IT, writing about the funding of the Presidency says that monies spent should be ‘accounted for in an open and transparent fashion’, but that the PAC has been ‘partisan’ in its examination of high profile witnesses with the implication it is unsuited to raise the issue. Any thoughts on that?

I suspect this is more about the IT being outraged at people daring to question the activities of Precious Saint Higgins of Tara Street…

That would be my read interestingly one IT person Harry McGee is a lot more favorable to the PAC in today’s edition. I also have a problem with the idea because this came up on the cusp of an election it is somehow inappropriate – if not now when? Truth is people don’t examine the institutions and structures of this state often until it’s right in front of them.
