I suggest this blog should have a regular (weekly) slot where people can post happenings at the personal or political level that gives them hope that we’re perhaps not going to hell in a handbasket as quickly as we thought. Or as the phlegmatic Germans put it “hope dies last”.

The threat a comprehensive (no loopholes) rent control in Berlin and the bringing in to public ownership of the stocks of the largest landlord has led to the shares of said landlord to tank.

Market speculators clearly believe in our political power.

…and after suffering a 70% rise in rents in Lisbon since 2013, Portugal’s leftish coalition government is introducing rent control nationwide.

The details aren’t great, but its a start.

After a 1 million demonstrating against the Extradition Bill in Hong Kong – up to 100,000 blockading the city for the past two days.

A national womens strike in Switzerland.
