Another epochal revolution – perhaps, do I tentatively suggest, arguably the most epochal?

Here’s a serious question, where do people suggest is good in Paris on Bastille Day? All recommendations gratefully accepted.

I see that – mighty impressive celebrations today – and at the parade the fire fighters got the biggest cheer of all

I see the French cops arrested quite a few yellow vests as a ‘preventative’ measure. Many in the crowd booed Macron. He no doubt loved the display of military stuff. Like Trump. Bastille day celebrations don’t celebrated the role of the masses in the democratic revolution. The military stuff came in during the 1880s, after the defeat of the Paris Commune.

Much like the supposed 1916 state commemorations in the modern ROI, it’s a subversion (even perversion) of the originating event.
