Gewerkschaftler suggested this recently:
I suggest this blog should have a regular (weekly) slot where people can post happenings at the personal or political level that gives them hope that we’re perhaps not going to hell in a handbasket as quickly as we thought. Or as the phlegmatic Germans put it “hope dies last”.
Any contributions this week?
Does this count: “Tory grandee Ken Clarke: I’d be prepared to back Jeremy Corbyn as caretaker PM”?
(The headline is from Sky News, though.)

Quite so. And ‘John Major joins legal fight to block Johnson suspending UK parliament’ according to Irish Times headline, though legal challenges can easily go amiss.

Great antifa demo (#unteilbar = unsplittable) took place in Dresden, home of Pegida last Saturday.
About 40k people attended, from trades unionists to a large Fridays for Future block (system change not climate change!).
Just as the AfD or similar racist / xenophobic blocks are likely to be with us for some time, the antifascist alliance is diverse and solid.
One trades unionist banner had a picture of Berlin after the liberation in 1945 with a slogan “Failed Monoculture”.
