Polls September 10, 2019

Posted by WorldbyStorm in Uncategorized.

Presumably the next couple of weeks in advance of the return of the Dáil will see a number of polls. The last polls in the ROI were conducted in July, and it will be interesting to see if a small lead for FF in the final polls before the Summer has been sustained or even widened.

Also of interest will be the polling of the GP. Clearly there was a surge around the Local and European Elections – but has that continue to feed into politics across the Summer? Can’t help but think the way in which the last three polls before the hiatus showed a declining GP pollshare, albeit from double digits. If they can keep some of that then well and good.

What of SF? They’ve not had a great summer. And the Independents and others are having trying times.

Of course polls won’t be solid evidence, but as always they can be indicative of broader dynamics.

1. PaddyM - September 10, 2019

I was polled on Friday afternoon by RedC so I assume it’s a poll for PaddyPower – not released yet at any rate.

Short enough series of questions – how certain was I to vote, who would I vote for and who had I voted for in 2016, is country going in right direction, will I be cutting my spending in anticipation of Brexit, who did I view as being the best Taoiseach – Varadkar or Martin.
