2020 Election Vision September 13, 2019

Is this extremely clever of Vardakar, to pin a date around which the state will go to the polls?

Speaking at the Fine Gael think-in in Cork Mr Varadkar said: “I have always said that I believed that the next general election should take place in the summer of 2020.
“I think May 2020 is the right moment. It will allow to us to complete a full parliamentary session in the new year, discharge our Government duties around St Patrick’s Day and the March European Council and have a new Government in place well in advance of the next summer recess.”

Does it put it up to FF should that party attempt to collapse matters in the meantime? Or does it offer a target before which FF can subtly and not so subtly disengage from its agreements and disagree with the government?
