A gentle reminder… December 11, 2019

Interesting that the following was said:

Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has said it was “clear” during the Brexit negotiations that there would be checks on goods coming from Great Britain into Northern Ireland, despite claims by Boris Johnson there would be no checks.

Speaking in Brussels, Mr Coveney said: “It was very clear when the deal was done.”

The Tánaiste said there would be east-west checks on goods coming into Northern Ireland, while goods going west-east, from Northern Ireland to Great Britain, would be limited to export declarations.

Equally interesting is the fact that Corbyn secured a leaked document written by British civil servants stating that Johnson’s Brexit deal wasn’t workable from many points of view, including the checks on goods going from Britain to the North. And what do the EU negotiators say? Zilch, nada, nothing because they are thinking: let them stew! Isn’t it nice to fancy the chances of Brexiteers to disentangle themselves from that particular deal? If Johnson gets his majority, the shit will hit the proverbial.
